Kansas is Killing Almost 20,000 Babies a Year in Abortions
Kansas continues to be a cautionary tale for any state facing a pro-abortion ballot measure. The first state in the nation to hold a voter referendum on abortion after Dobbs, Kansans failed to pass an amendment in 2022 that would have negated the State Supreme Court’s earlier interpretation that abortion rights are found in the state constitution. The debacle set a terrible precedent for abortion radicals to build upon in other states, and the consequences in Kansas itself have been devastating.
By 2024, just two years after the referendum, the number of abortion clinics in Kansas nearly doubled, moving from 4 clinics to seven. In that same time span, the number of abortions across the state increased by an alarming 62% – with a third or more of those abortions performed on out-of-state women each year.
Since 2016 – when Kansas abortions were the lowest they had ever been in recent years – the total number of abortions have increased by 190%. However, just looking at the number of out-of-state residents getting abortions in 2016 (3,381) to 2024 (15,048), there is a whopping 345% increase, while the number of Kansas residents getting abortions has only increased by 38%.

“Kansas has become an abortion destination of almost unbelievable proportions,” says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, “killing close to 20,000 children in the womb every year. And it isn’t slowing down. Abortion businesses in our abortion-ravaged state are expanding.”
Planned Parenthood of Wichita, once a referral-only clinic, currently commits abortions well into the second-trimester. Recently, it relocated to the building right next door – a newer building with likely twice the capacity of the former.
It is one of the only abortion operations close to larger Texas cities like Dallas and Fort Worth, and just a two and a half hour drive from Oklahoma City.
“A bigger building lets Planned Parenthood exploit more women in more states so it can kill more babies,” says Newman. “It’s as simple and horrific as that.”
Aria Medical, a pill-only abortion business that opened the year after Roe was overturned, has also found a way to target preborn children in numerous other states. Since its Kansas opening in 2023, Aria has partnered with out-of-state abortion organizations like Arkansas Abortion Support Network, Missouri Abortion Fund, and Louisiana Abortion Fund.
In November 2025, Ohio centers with the pro-abortion group JustChoice announced they would now provide medical abortions at their Columbus and Cincinnati locations through a partnership with Aria Medical.
Newman adds, “Not satisfied with killing preborn children in Kansas and its surrounding states, Aria is now targeting babies in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Indiana.”
JustChoice announced the alliance as “the first all-options model of its kind.” Posing as a kind of pregnancy center, with free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests, the organization boasts that adding the destruction of children in the womb “completes” the full list of options for pregnant women.
“Of course, the child is given no option,” says Newman, “as abortion drugs first starve her to death in her mother’s womb, and then force her mother to expel her now dead form into a toilet or the bottom of her shower. What a twisted and depraved sense of ‘support’ for pregnant mothers. May God have mercy on the people who consider that an ‘all-options’ model.”
The ramifications of radicalized abortion policies in the state of Kansas have been catastrophic. The number of abortions committed each year is higher than it has ever been in the state’s recorded history, with abortion businesses finding new and worse ways to expand their bloody reach not only in Kansas, but in numerous other states across America.
“This is what the abortion cartel always aims for,” adds Newman, “unfettered abortion with no bounds and no regulations. To the voters in states that will once again face pro-abortion ballot measures this year: the abortion lobby does not know moderation, only destruction. You must, must, must vote against these abortion amendments and vote for life-affirming measures. Otherwise, the state of Kansas – with astronomical increases in abortion – will be your future. It has never been more important for you to vote pro-life.”
