Gibb: New Deal 'Delight' Following 'Whirlwind' Year
Following a whirlwind year back at the Club, Caley Gibb is "delighted" to have signed a contract extension with Hibernian Women.
The 22-year-old rejoined Hibs Women in February 2025 on loan from Partick Thistle, having initially made two senior appearances for the Club as a 15-year-old academy prospect.
Gibb would immediately become a crucial player during our title run-in, playing 10 times to help the Hibees secure our first Scottish Women's Premier League title in 18 years.
After signing permanently in the summer, the versatile full-back has now extended her stay until Summer 2027 and is thrilled to be remaining with the Club.
"I'm delighted," she told Hibs TV. "Hibs is a club that has great ambitions and, as I've said before, a club that I came through at from a young age. To be here for another year is amazing.
"It's been a whirlwind (year at Hibs), to be honest. Some of it still doesn't feel quite real, but I'm just very grateful for the opportunities that the staff have given me.
"To be playing alongside the players here that are unbelievable, and are going out there and representing their country is just amazing. I’m super grateful for where I'm at."
Gibb played in all of our first 20 matches this season, including our adventures in Europe - which saw her make her UEFA Women's Champions League debut, but a recent injury setback has seen her exciting start to life at Hibs stall slightly.
After five matches on the sidelines, our number three returned in our recent victory over Aberdeen and impressed off the bench.
"I think injuries are always tough and you always try and help teammates through it, but when it's you, it's always that wee bit harder.
"For me, it was a hard period of time, but, thankfully, it was nothing too serious. I'm back out with the girls now and just want to make that impact and help them out going into the split.
"I think, for us, we need to just go into every game and aim to get three points. As silly as that sounds, that's the key.
"For me, it's just building back up minutes, getting back to sharpness, and, as I say, helping the team as much as I can to impact and getting all the points that we need.
"I just want to do my best for the Club, whatever that role looks like, I don't know. But when I step on that pitch, I'm going to give 110% week in, week out.
"And also, I've said it before, but for me, I think I really want to start getting back into the National Team set up - the Under-23s - and looking to push forward to get into the ‘A’ Squad at some point as well."
