'War Machine' Star Alan Ritchson Sends Strong Message to Wife Cat Ahead of Netflix Release
Alan Ritchson is set to return to the screen of millions of viewers on Friday, March 6 when his new movie hits Netflix. In War Machine, Ritchson plays 81, an Army Ranger candidate, squaring off against an otherworldly robotic machine hellbent on destroying everything in its path.
"During the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, an elite team's training exercise turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat," the tagline for the film reads.
Before the film's debut, though, Ritchson had a message for his wife.
Alan Ritchson Sends Message to Wife Cat
Ritchson and his wife, Cat, have been married for 20 years and share three boys together. The couple shows off their proud family on social media, but even Ritchson can't help throwing his wife under the bus with a joke every now and then.
"Best thing about the team we put together on our Thornton movie is we’re the same team that made War Machine. Yes @patrick_hughes_ and I have an unmistakable bromance. Sue us! The heart wants what it wants. Blowing stuff up on set together yesterday and catching a flight to the WM premiere today is the most fun. Love this group of artists so much," he said in the first part of the caption before offering a message for his wife.
"Only wishing my baby @catritchson could join in the festivities. She’s the reason I can do this and our kids aren’t in jail. She said she doesn’t like Australians though so she wasn’t coming. That’s what she said," he said with a joke.
Just a few days later, she revealed she had already been in Australia and New Zealand for the shoots.
"I never thought I’d need all 20 slots to post pics, but Australia and New Zealand will do that to ya," she said in the caption of the post showing her time in the region. "To celebrate War Machine out in the international box office, please enjoy this array of exotic coffees and sunsets among other moments of pure joy we had while living abroad for this film. My first two days in New Zealand I walked around crying because I couldn’t handle the beauty."
While the couple has likely already seen a screening of War Machine, fans can catch the action on Friday, March 6 when the film streams on Netflix.
