Far-Left Wingnut Keith Olbermann Calls Beloved Late Coach Lou Holtz a ‘Legendary Scumbag’ in Vicious Social Media Post
Ex-ESPN broadcaster and full TDS sufferer Keith Olbermann launched a vicious attack on legendary football coach Lou Holtz, who passed away on Wednesday at 89.
While tributes to Holtz poured in from around the country, the always angry-Olbermann got vicious.
Olbermann responded to a post on X that called Holtz a ‘legend’ for criticizing former President Joe Biden in 2020 for supporting abortion rights.
‘Legendary scumbag, yes,’ Olbermann wrote in response.

Greg Price, whose post sparked the vile remarks, responded to Olbermann, noting, “Lou Holtz will be remembered as a man of deep Catholic faith, who improved the lives of countless young men, turning around college football programs, and winning a national championship, while being married to his wife for nearly 60 years and leaving behind a beautiful family.”
“You will be remembered as a sad, miserable little man who contributed absolutely nothing of value to this world.”

Holtz, who coached the Fighting Irish from 1986 to 1996, won 100 games and led the team to a national title in 1988.
His family shared that he died surrounded by his family, enveloped in love.
Olbermann appears to be triggered to cruely because Holtz dared to be vocal about his Catholic faith, conservative values, and support of President Donald Trump.
During the 2016 Presidential Election, Holtz endorsed Trump in the Republican primary season and released a video endorsement praising Trump’s business success, first-class style, and non-politically correct approach.
During the 2020 Presidential Election, Holtz was one of Trump’s most prominent celebrity backers and spoke at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on August 26, 2020, endorsing Trump’s re-election.
He called Trump a “consistent winner” and “outstanding leader” who “loves our country,” praised his accomplishments, criticized Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (labeling them “Catholics in name only” on abortion issues), and urged voters to “show up” for Trump.
In 2020, Trump awarded Holtz the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor.
Holtz thanked the President and called him “the greatest President during my lifetime.”
In September 2024, a video circulated of Holtz saying, “America needs Donald Trump now more than ever,” emphasizing that Trump would “secure the border,” succeed in making America great again, and needed voters’ help as part of a “team.”
