Savannah Guthrie Returns to 'Today' Show, NBC Releases Statement Confirming She Plans to Return to Show
Savannah Guthrie is back in New York City and returned to the Today show for the first time in weeks amid the search for her mom Nancy, 84, who was last seen on January 31.
TMZ got video of the 54-year-old anchor at the studio on Thursday (March 5), where she was seen hugging members of the staff.
Savannah did not appear on camera this morning, but NBC released a statement that she visited to thank the staff.
The statement also indicates that she does plan to return to the show, but she currently remains focused on her mom’s case. This seems to be the first time that NBC has confirmed she’ll return to the morning news program at some point, amid lots of speculation about her future on the show.

“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her ‘Today’ colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,” NBC said in a statement.
