Iran fires missiles at Israel as regional conflict enters sixth day
Several missiles were fired toward Israel early Thursday as fighting between Iran and the United States–Israel alliance continued to escalate.
Agence France-Presse reported that Iran launched the attack early Thursday, March 5, targeting Israel as hostilities in the region intensified.
The strike came after a U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship in international waters, further raising tensions between the two sides.
The conflict has now entered its sixth day, with both sides exchanging strikes across the region. Reports indicate that more than 1,000 people have been killed since the fighting began, as attacks continue on multiple fronts.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have been rising for years, fueled by disputes over Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence. The latest escalation follows a series of military strikes and counterstrikes across the Middle East.
The conflict has also heightened fears of a broader regional war, with several countries warning that continued hostilities could draw more actors into the confrontation.
The escalating tensions have disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil shipments.
Analysts warn that unless diplomatic efforts resume quickly, the conflict risks further escalation, threatening regional stability and international energy markets.
