RINO Thune ‘Pressures’ Trump to Back Establishment RINO Cornyn — Is Senate Leader Delaying SAVE Act as Leverage?

The D.C. Establishment is working overtime to crush the America First movement in Texas.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, the very man who replaced Mitch McConnell when senators rightfully rejected John Cornyn, is now brazenly pressuring President Donald Trump to back Cornyn in the highly contested Texas Senate Republican runoff.

In the November 2024 leadership election, Thune defeated John Cornyn (R-Texas) to become the leader in a closed-door vote among senators.

This begs a massive, alarming question: Is Leader Thune deliberately delaying the crucial SAVE Act to use as leverage to save Cornyn’s political career?

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that President Trump announced on Wednesday that he will be making an endorsement very soon in the fierce battle between true-conservative Ken Paxton and establishment-hack John Cornyn.

Since neither candidate cleared the 50% threshold on Tuesday night, Texas voters are heading to a runoff.

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

“The Republican Primary Race for the United States Senate in the Great State of Texas, a State I LOVE and won 3 times in Record Numbers (the HIGHEST vote ever recorded, by far!!!), cannot, for the good of the Party, and our Country, itself, be allowed to go on any longer. IT MUST STOP NOW!

We have an easy to beat, Radical Left Opponent, and we have to TOTALLY FOCUS on putting him away, quickly and decisively! Both John and Ken ran great races, but not good enough. Now, this one, must be PERFECT!

My Endorsements within the Republican Party have been virtually insurmountable! It is such an honor to realize and say that almost everyone I Endorse WINS, and wins by a lot, especially in Texas!

I will be making my Endorsement soon, and will be asking the candidate that I don’t Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE! Is that fair? We must win in November!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The choice for MAGA could not be clearer. Ken Paxton is a staunch conservative and a battle-tested MAGA favorite. He is a warrior who is well known for fighting rampant election fraud in the state of Texas.

Let’s not forget, it was Ken Paxton who boldly filed the 2020 lawsuit contesting the rigged election in four key states where Joe Biden mysteriously “defeated” President Trump with late-night ballot drops.

Paxton has also taken on Big Pharma and has fought against the medical transitioning of minors.

On the other side, you have John Cornyn, the hand-picked darling of the GOP establishment. The political elite have poured more than $71 million into propping up Cornyn’s campaign.

Now, the Swamp is calling in its favors.

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, Leader John Thune openly admitted he is actively lobbying President Trump to betray the grassroots movements and endorse Cornyn.

“I’ve spoken with the president already today about Texas, and I’m certainly hopeful,” Thune said.

“I’ve made no secret of the fact that I hope the president will endorse John Cornyn. He is an incredibly effective senator for the state of Texas, a strong conservative voice here in the United States Senate, and represents by far our very best hope of making sure that Texas stays red in November.”

Thune continued by praising Cornyn’s prospects in both the primary and general election.

“I believe he is not only going to win the primary, but the general election in November.”

When McCallum pressed Thune about whether Trump’s endorsement was imminent, the Senate leader declined to reveal details of their conversation but suggested the president was carefully considering the decision.

“I’m not going to characterize the conversations I’ve had with the president,” Thune said. “But I think it’s fair to say that he’s paying a lot of attention… and he knows full well how important it is that we hold Texas in the Republican column.”
