“I’m grateful to Steph. Organically, he ended up reaching out to the brand since he’s a free agent,” Kyrie told Andscape.
The moment caught attention across the sneaker world after Steph became the first NBA player outside of Kyrie to wear the exclusive sneaker ANTA KAI 3. With Steph currently a sneaker free agent, the appearance immediately sparked rumors that he could consider signing with the brand.
“It was legendary,” Kyrie said. “We’re two competitors, two point guards, where our branding sometimes has been aligned, sometimes not, and we go at each other.”
Kyrie also made his feelings clear about the possibility of Steph joining the company.
“I’d love to have Steph on the brand. I’m just throwing it out there, man. We have the best product out there, the best brand,” he said.
The comments arrive during a major moment for ANTA in the United States. The company recently opened its first U.S. flagship store in Beverly Hills and unveiled ANTALAND, which transformed Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier into a private immersive ANTA universe, bringing together families, fans, retail partners, and VIP guests. Hosted by Kyrie, the invite-only event featured interactive experiences, exclusive product, and celebrity appearances designed to highlight the brand’s long term commitment to the U.S. market.
