Harry Styles Explains Why His World Tour Includes Only 7 Cities & Longer Residency Stays, As Opposed to Traditional Tours
Harry Styles is opening up about his decision to perform residency dates vs. traveling around the globe for his tour.
If you don’t know, earlier this year, he announced his Together, Together world tour as a 7-city residency, featuring dozens of dates in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne, and Sydney from May through December.
The 32-year-old superstar will play 30 consecutive shows at Madison Square Garden. The 30 MSG shows will be his only U.S. dates of 2026, and the most shows at any venue across the international tour.
Many fans were wondering why he’s not going to new cities every few days, as is tradition when artists tour.

“I think it makes the show better. I think you can build something that doesn’t have to travel every night,” Harry said on The Zane Lowe Show for Apple Music 1.
Harry added, “I think there’s something in this that allows me to, like, stay in my life while I’m doing it. And therefore I think [it] allows me to take care of myself better, which I think makes me better at doing the thing.”
“It’s not like I’m saying I’ll never travel again, but I want to see what it looks like if you do it a different way,” he shared. “And people in my band have families now and kids … It’s really important to me that they’re on the road, that I would love to have them. I don’t want to make it near impossible for them to be able to come do that with me.”
In the same interview, he spoke about the death of his bandmate Liam Payne.
