Nancy Guthrie Update: Ex-FBI Agent Reveals How the Case Could Be Solved Soon
More than a month after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson, Arizona home, there still haven't been any arrests in the case. Now, a retired FBI agent has explained why she believes that there could be a major break in the search for Savannah Guthrie's mom.
The disappearance has gripped the public and created endless speculation. However, it is the expert voices like this one that can offer a realistic perspective of how the investigation can move forward.
Why a Breakthrough Could Come Soon in the Nancy Guthrie Case
An expert who has been closely following the Nancy Guthrie case believes that the more than $1.2 million in reward money could lead to a breakthrough. Jennifer Coffindaffer is a retired FBI Special Agent and former SWAT Team member who hosts “Break The Case with Jen Coffindaffer FBI” on YouTube and contributes to NewsNation. In a March 4 X post, she stated the case will be solved when someone close to the suspect steps forward.
On February 10, the FBI released the doorbell camera footage of the suspect in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping. Coffindaffer believes that video, when combined with the reward money, will ultimately be the deciding factor in the case being solved.
The former FBI agent wrote that the footage contains several elements that could allow someone who knows the suspect, who she calls "Porch Guy," to identify them. She listed the person's brows, mustache, mouth, eye configuration, height, weight, ring, clothing, and backpack as the revealing factors. Coffindaffer believes that the huge reward money is the motivation that a person who recognizes the suspect will need to step forward and provide the information that will solve the case.
"Nancy Guthrie How will this case be solved? A family member/friend/co-worker who knows Porch Guy needs to come forward. Brows Mustache Mouth Eye configuration Height/Weight Ring Clothing/Backpack They are all giveaways as to his identification. $1.2 million is on the table for their betrayal. Neither morality nor money seem to be motivating those involved. Day 32. No arrests. No Nancy. #NancyGuthrie #NancyGuthrieCase"

While Coffindaffer didn't predict that the Guthrie case would be solved soon, the scenario she laid out makes it inherently clear that a tip could come swiftly or take more time.
The total reward money currently available in the Nancy Guthrie case comes from three sources. On February 24, Savannah Guthrie posted on Instagram to announce that she and her siblings were offering $1 million for information that leads to the recovery of their mother. A People article detailed the rest of the money, which stems from the FBI also offering $100,000, and a local Arizona group called 88-CRIME, which contributed $105,000.
