Buckingham Palace ‘gardener’ removes Virginia Giuffre memorial plaque in just 90 minutes
This is the moment a gardener removes a memorial plaque of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor accuser Virginia Giuffre from a park outside Buckingham Palace.
The high-vis wearing worker holding a litter picker is seen removing the memorial placed on a grassy area flooded with tourists taking selfies of the royal household.
It was put up by activists from Everybody Hates Elon, fresh from their Andrew prank at the Louvre on Tuesday to ‘re-centre the survivors who fought for justice against the billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’.
The memorial signs placed on royal land, read ‘In honour of Virginia Giuffre whose decades of campaigning exposed sexual abuse by powerful men like Jeffrey Epstein and former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
‘Her bravery and determination brought the truth to light. May she be remembered long after her abusers are forgotten.’

It was removed by the worker, believed to be part of the royal household, just 90 minutes after it was erected.
A spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon said the group hoped it could have become a permanent memorial to the survivor.
They told Metro: ‘Of course we are disappointed. We feel Andrew and the whole world should be made to remember Virginia’s bravery forever.
‘Billionaires and their mates think they can get away with anything. They think ordinary people will never fight back – let alone win.
‘Yet Virginia Giuffre never stopped standing up to Epstein and Andrew. It’s thanks to her and survivors like her that they are being made to pay for their crimes, even a little.
‘Andrew hoped no one would ever know Virginia’s name, he even paid people to investigate and smear her.
‘Instead, this memorial should stay as a permanent reminder so the world never forgets.’
An image of Ms Giuffre standing beside then-Prince Andrew has become one of the most notorious to emerge from the Epstein files.
She alleged that Epstein had trafficked her to have sex with the royal when she was underage.
Andrew has denied ever meeting her and has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing. He has also previously suggested the photo is a fake.
How did Virginia Giuffre die?
After a long battle with depression and trauma, Giuffre was found dead in her Australian home on April 25, 2025.
Her family said in a statement that she was a ‘fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse’ but that the ‘toll of abuse… became unbearable’.
Giuffre’s long-time publicist Dini von Mueffling said her client was ‘one of the most extraordinary human beings I have ever had the honour to know’.
‘Deeply loving, wise, and funny, she was a beacon to other survivors and victims,’ von Mueffling said. ‘It was the privilege of a lifetime to represent her.’
Sigrid McCawley, a lawyer for Giuffre, said in a statement: ‘Her courage pushed me to fight harder, and her strength was awe-inspiring.
‘The world has lost an amazing human being today.
Last month a small crack team of British activists from the group who already shamed Jeff Bezos at his Venice wedding managed to slip through beefed-up security at the world-famous gallery in Paris undetected.
They hung up a portrait of Andrew’s unflattering arrest picture in the same gallery as Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.
The mastermind previously told Metro: ‘It was all pretty fine getting it through. It was just in a bag and hidden under another picture.
‘We put it up but didn’t hang about. We had to get out of there.
‘It was up for about 15 minutes before they took it down. Staff were actually laughing about it initially.
‘We all know what the French did with their monarchs.’
