NHL roundup: Kirill Kaprizov sets Wild’s all-time goal mark

Kirill Kaprizov set the Wild's all-time goal-scoring record Tuesday night as Minnesota rolled to a 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Saint Paul, Minn.

With his club comfortably ahead and the Lightning net empty, the 28-year-old Kaprizov tallied the history-making goal, his 220th, at 16:41 of the third period. He broke a tie with Marian Gaborik for the franchise mark.

Minnesota's Brock Faber, Mats Zuccarello and Quinn Hughes each notched a goal and an assist. Yakov Trenin added a marker as the Wild broke a two-game skid but moved to 7-2-0 in the past nine games. Matt Boldy recorded three assists to stretch his point streak to a career-high-tying 10 games (eight goals, 13 assists). Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 24 shots.

Nikita Kucherov scored for Tampa Bay, which opened a four-game road trip with its third straight loss. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 17 saves.

Oilers 5, Senators 4 (OT)

Evan Bouchard netted the overtime winner as Edmonton rallied from three deficits to defeat visiting Ottawa. Zach Hyman forced the extra frame with 1:25 remaining in regulation as he tipped in Leon Draisaitl's pass.

Draisaitl contributed two goals and three assists for the Oilers, who earned just their second win in seven outings (2-5-0). Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added a goal for Edmonton, and Connor Ingram made 17 saves.

Drake Batherson scored twice and Dylan Cozens and Michael Amadio also tallied for the Senators. Linus Ullmark finished with 32 saves.

Stars 6, Flames 1

Sam Steel scored twice in a three-point game and Matt Duchene recorded a career-best four assists to pace Dallas to a franchise-record-extending 10th consecutive win over host Calgary.

Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston both netted one goal and one assist while Mavrik Bourque and Nathan Bastian added a goal apiece for the Stars, who outscored their opposition by a 12-2 margin in a two-game road swing with games on consecutive nights. Dallas goaltender Casey DeSmith made 20 saves and Jason Robertson collected a pair of assists.

Morgan Frost tallied for the Flames, who have just three victories in 12 games (3-6-3). Calgary's starting goalie, Dustin Wolf, was pulled after surrendering four goals on 17 shots. Devin Cooley stopped 16 shots in mop-up duty.

Avalanche 5, Ducks 1

Parker Kelly scored twice, Cale Makar produced a goal and two assists and visiting Colorado beat Anaheim.

Gabriel Landeskog and Martin Necas also scored and Brock Nelson and Jack Drury had two assists each for Colorado, which has won three straight. The Avalanche, with an NHL-best 91 points, stayed six points ahead of streaking Dallas Stars in the Central Division before the teams meet in Texas on Friday.

Cutter Gauthier scored his sixth goal in the past six games and Lukas Dostal made 21 saves for Anaheim, which had its five-game winning streak snapped. The Ducks had won eight in a row at home before the Tuesday loss.

Bruins 2, Penguins 1

Marat Khusnutdinov and Casey Mittelstadt scored the tying and go-ahead goals within a 50-second span in the first period, leading Boston to a win over visiting Pittsburgh.

Jeremy Swayman recorded 34 saves to post his first victory since helping Team USA to Olympic gold. The Bruins improved to 6-1-3 in their past 10 games and have won 11 in a row at home.

Erik Karlsson scored and Stuart Skinner made 26 saves for the Penguins, who had recorded points in their first three games since the Olympics (2-0-1).

Blue Jackets 3, Predators 2

Charlie Coyle scored with 13:53 left in regulation to give Columbus a victory over visiting Nashville.

Sean Monahan and Adam Fantilli (four-game goal streak) also scored for the Blue Jackets, who are 9-1-1 in their past 11 games. Jet Greaves made 21 saves, though he sat out eight minutes of the first period under the concussion protocol before returning.

Filip Forsberg and Ryan O'Reilly tallied for the Predators, who lost their third straight game (0-2-1). O'Reilly left midway through the third period after taking the butt of a stick to the face, sustaining a noticeable cut. Justus Annunen stopped 24 shots.

Jets 3, Blackhawks 2 (OT)

Mark Scheifele scored with 2:54 left in overtime as Winnipeg kicked off an eight-game homestand with a comeback win over Chicago.

The Jets' Cole Perfetti tied the game with 39 seconds remaining in regulation. Scheifele had two assists and Dylan Samberg added a goal and an assist. Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves.

Teuvo Teravainen and Ryan Greene were the goal-scorers for Chicago, and Connor Bedard logged two assists. Spencer Knight stopped 29 shots.

Sabres 3, Golden Knights 2

Tage Thompson scored his 33rd goal of the season and Alex Lyon made 27 saves as Buffalo jumped out to a three-goal lead over visiting Vegas and then held on for its fourth straight victory.

Owen Power and Jason Zucker added goals and Rasmus Dahlin had two assists for the Sabres, who improved to a league-best 25-5-2 since Dec. 9.

Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Dorofeyev tallied while Akira Schmid finished with 25 saves for the Golden Knights, who dropped their third straight game.

Sharks 7, Canadiens 5

Kiefer Sherwood scored the eventual game-winner and added an assist as San Jose beat visiting Montreal for their third victory in a row.

Macklin Celebrini scored a goal and added three assists for the Sharks. Will Smith and Collin Graf each had a goal and an assist while Michael Misa, Alexander Wennberg and Adam Gaudette also tallied. San Jose's Yaroslav Askarov made 32 saves.

Alex Newhook scored twice and Oliver Kapanen, Phillip Danault and Ivan Demidov had a goal apiece for the Canadiens, who fell to 5-1-2 in the past eight games. Mike Matheson had three assists while Jake Evans chipped in a pair of helpers. Jakub Dobes stopped 21 shots.

Devils 5, Panthers 1

Dougie Hamilton had a goal and an assist and Jack Hughes and Connor Brown each had two assists in New Jersey's win over Florida at Newark, N.J.

Arseny Gritsyuk, Cody Glass, Dawson Mercer and Simon Nemec scored the Devils' other goals. Jacob Markstrom stopped 20 of 21 shots.

The Panthers are on a three-game losing streak and are 2-8-0 in their past 10 games. Anton Lundell scored Florida's only goal, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 of 31 shots.

Mammoth 3, Capitals 2

Dylan Guenther, elevated to Utah's top line during the morning skate, collected a goal and an assist to fuel the visiting Mammoth to a victory over Washington.

One of Guenther's new linemates, Clayton Keller, notched two assists as the Mammoth recorded their fourth win in the past six games. Mikhail Sergachev and JJ Peterka each scored a power-play goal and Karel Vejmelka made 23 saves for Utah.

Pierre-Luc Dubois and Ryan Leonard each tallied a power-play goal and Logan Thompson turned aside 20 shots for the Capitals, who saw their season-high five-game home winning streak come to a halt.
