BYU’s AJ Dybantsa not settled on his future: ‘I might not leave college’
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
When there is a freshman as renowned as BYU freshman AJ Dybantsa the assumption is always that he will head to the NBA after his first year of college. But according to Dybantsa, that decision has not been made.
“I might not leave college,” Dybantsa said. “I’ve just got to get to the end of the season…my mom wants me to graduate.”
This indecisiveness amongst freshmen isn’t unheard of in college basketball. Last year’s freshman phenom Cooper Flagg was undecided on whether or not he would enter the NBA Draft.
Of course, almost a year after Cooper Flagg’s last game at Duke he is amongst the best rookies in the NBA.
In all likelihood Dybantsa will enter the 2026 NBA Draft. But things have not been made official just yet.
