Hip Hop Pioneers Perform on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert
Making their first appearance at this unique setting, De La Soul performed at National Public Radio’s (NPR) Tiny Desk Concert.
This concert series highlights singers and bands in an informal and close-up setting. They packed nine musicians into the tiny space.
Songs from Cabin in the Sky
Posdnuos and Maseo’s set largely featured live renditions of their latest album, Cabin in the Sky, one of the Best Rap Albums of 2025. It was bittersweet. De La Soul was missing the late David Jolicoeur, aka Trugoy the Dove, Plug Two, who battled congestive heart failure and passed in 2023. But they referenced him and they had a placard with “Dave” front and center.

They kicked off the set with “YUHDONTSTOP” and the uplifting “Will Be” then played “Much More” and “Stakes is High.”
Throwing it back to their early days, they played “Me Myself and I” to close out their Tiny Desk set.
