Since 2024, bag charms have been the one fashion accessory that Gen X and Gen Z can agree on. “In a world shaped by fragmentation, digital overload, and constant acceleration, many described books and long-form storytelling as a refuge — a way to slow down, reflect, and feel a sense of belonging,” Joon Silverstein, Coach’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.
What to Know About Coach’s Mini Book Bag Charms (Spring 2026)
The Spring 2026 campaign is titled “Explore Your Story” and celebrates Gen Z’s new obsession with reading. To celebrate reading as a new fashion trend, Coach collaborated with Penguin Random House to bring shoppers 12 miniature bag charms that showcase classic titles, such as Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility,” for example. Each charm costs $95 and is crafted with stunning details, including a glove-tanned leather spine and a dainty golden clip that attaches effortlessly to your bag.
“We intentionally brought together partners from different parts of culture — fashion, literature, sport, and digital culture — because Gen Z doesn’t experience identity in one lane,” Silverstein noted. “Our role isn’t to speak for communities, but to create shared spaces where many voices can come together around a belief in the power of storytelling and the courage it takes to be real.”
