Iran’s Araghchi says Rubio ‘admitted’ U.S. entered ‘war of choice’ for Israel
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi says Marco Rubio ‘admitted’ Washington entered the conflict in support of Israel, calling it a “war of choice.”
Seyed Abbas Araghchi has reacted sharply to remarks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding Washington’s involvement in the war in support of Israel.
Writing on X on Tuesday, March 3, Araghchi said the United States had entered a “war of choice” for Israel, insisting that there had never been a threat called “Iran.”
He added that Rubio’s acknowledgment effectively confirmed what “everyone already knew,” blaming what he described as “Israel-first supporters” for the bloodshed of both Americans and Iranians.
Araghchi also stated that the American people “deserve better” and should “take back their country,” in a direct appeal to US public opinion.
Earlier, Rubio said Washington is not currently prepared to deploy ground forces to Iran, even as US strikes against Tehran continue.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have sharply escalated in recent weeks, with coordinated US and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian military and strategic sites.
Iranian media reported on Tuesday that 13 Iranian soldiers were killed in joint US-Israeli airstrikes in Kerman province, underscoring the growing human toll of the conflict.
With both sides hardening their rhetoric and military actions ongoing, prospects for de-escalation remain uncertain, raising concerns about further casualties and regional instability.
