Alan Ritchson-Led Sci-Fi Action Thriller Hits Netflix This Week

Work on ReacherSeason 4 is still a work in progress, but fans won't have to wait long to see Alan Ritchson, who plays the titular character, back in action. The Blue Mountain State jock has turned into quite the action star over the past few years and now he's set for his biggest film yet.

His latest movie for Netflix has already been likened to Arnold Schwarzenegger's Predator and promises to deliver a science fiction action thriller for all audiences later this week.

'War Machine' Hits Netflix on March 6

In War Machine, Ritchson plays 81, an Army Ranger candidate, squaring off against an otherworldly robotic machine hellbent on destroying everything in its path.

"During the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, an elite team's training exercise turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat," the tagline for the film reads.

The lead actor shared images from a recent red carpet appearance a month before the film's release.

"This movie is a banger. Ho. Ly… what a ride. It’s such an experience. Explosive, non-stop action, a ton of heart, levity when you need it most, the pacing is perfect… cast and crew knocked this out of the park. You are going to love this movie. We were floating out of that theatre," Ritchson said in a post on social media last month.

'War Machine' Filmed on Location in Australia, New Zealand

Ritchson posted several videos to social media showing the shoots taking place in Australia and New Zealand before filming wrapped. Co-star Jai Courtney raved about the locations and director Patrick Hughes ahead of the film's release.

"Pat [Patrick Hughes], I’ve been a fan of for a long time, and he’s become a good friend as well, and it was cool to go down there [to Victoria, Australia, where the film was shot]. What I really love about what he’s doing is he’s pulling these big, visionary action films into Australia and into the industry down there. I think it’s really healthy for the business down there, and it’s cool to see we have such world-class crews and locations," Courtney said.

Ritchson will be back in action on Friday, March 6.
