Metallica adds six more shows to its blockbuster Sphere residency
Metallica fans want more.
And, as usual, Metallica fans are going to get it.
“Due to unbelievable demand (wow, guys!) SIX SHOWS are being added to our Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas,” Metallica announced on its Instagram page on Monday.
So, in other words, it sure looks like the long-anticipated Metallica Sphere connection is a big hit at the box office. Presale ducats for the initially eight shows announced (Oct. 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31) just went on sale Monday morning — with the general public on-sale still a few days away — and yet the band is already adding more shows? Yeah, that’s the kind of massive demand that people were expecting for this run.
Metallica has not yet announced the exact dates for these additional concerts, but they should be coming real soon — especially given that the fan club presale for these newly announced shows begins at 10 a.m. March 4.

“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’” Metallica co-founder/drummer Lars Ulrich said in a news release announcing the band’s Sphere residency. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way (expletive) psyched to go next level!”
The Metallica Sphere residency will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of the band’s M72 World Tour — so that means no songs will be repeated during the Thursday and Saturday shows of each weekend in the run.
