Cyprus has one of highest bone marrow donor rates worldwide
The significance of the volunteer bone marrow donor registry of the Karaiskakio Foundation, was highlighted by Health Minister Neofytos Charalambides on Monday, who said the island boasts one of the highest donor ratios in the world.
The minister toured the premises and was briefed on its facilities, specialised equipment and the services provided to patients.
Charalambides was also informed about the challenges and needs facing the foundation.
“The state recognises the valuable work of the Karaiskakio Foundation and remains supportive in ensuring its smooth and sustainable operation,” the minister said.
