100 goals, 100 assists: Ten stunning moments that prove Bruno Fernandes is Man United royalty

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is the most in-form player in the Premier League.

His assist against Crystal Palace helped him reach a dream milestone of 100 assists for Man United.

While Fernandes has been one of the best players in the English top flight, he has taken his game to an even higher level in the 2025-26 season.

Here we look at his top 10 moments from this campaign.

First win of the 2025-26 season

After finishing 14th in the Premier League last campaign, then-manager Ruben Amorim needed a solid start to the new term.

United put on a good show but lost to Arsenal 1-0 in the opening game. A draw with Fulham frustrated the fans, making Burnley’s trip to Manchester more important.

The Red Devils struck twice but the Clarets pegged them back both times.

United earned a penalty late in the game with Fernandes stepping up with ice-cold veins to bury it in the 97th minute.

It was a fantastic spot kick to help United secure their maiden victory.

Bassy dummy and assist Sesko vs Fulham

The Red Devils were cruising towards an easy 2-0 victory before Fulham struck twice in the last five minutes to level the proceedings.

It felt like another typical United game where they dropped points against teams that allow them to have possession.

However, Fernandes was determined to change the result.

He did brilliantly on the right to beat Calvin Bassey with a clever dummy before sending in a low ball for Benjamin Sesko into the penalty box.

The Slovenia international slammed it home for the Red Devils, keeping Carrick’s 100% win rate intact.

Assist for Mbeumo vs Man City

Michael Carrick was hastily appointed as the United head coach and his first assignment was to save face against Manchester City.

The Red Devils enjoyed a good start to the game but still had nothing to show for it.

Maguire headed a ball into Bryan Mbeumo who passed it to the Portuguese magnifico.

Fernandes led the counter-attack by running almost the entire length of the pitch with the ball before slipping a perfectly weighted pass into the path of the Cameroonian who put United ahead.

Assist for Maguire vs Liverpool

United had not beaten Liverpool at Anfield for nine years.

The hoodoo needed to be broken, and it could not have been done without the brilliance of Fernandes.

The 31-year-old was not enjoying the best of his evening but still managed to pull the rabbit out of his hat that stunned the Anfield crowd.

He fed Mbeumo from a corner routine, and his shot was blocked.

The rebound fortunately fell to the United captain, who produced a breathtaking first-time volleyed cross to the far post for Maguire to head the match-winning goal.

Any other player would have taken a touch to control the ball before firing a cross into the box. But, Fernandes is not just any footballer. He is special.

Ghost pass for Mbeumo vs Brighton

Brighton netted a 92nd-minute goal to take the score 3-2, with United now nervously holding their lead.

In the sixth minute of added time, Ayden Heaven fired a pass forward just outside the centre circle.

Fernandes, who was facing away from Mbeumo, dummied the ball and left the ball straight for the Cameroonian who wrapped up the win with United’s fourth goal of the evening.

99 out of 100 players would have touched the ball before passing it sideways or forward. Fernandes smartly did neither.

Assist for Zirkzee’s stunner

Fernandes is not only the creative heartbeat of United but also one of the smartest players in the world.

The Portuguese spots a lack of concentration from opponents like no one else and makes it count.

With Crystal Palace leading 1-0 at Selhurst Park, Fernandes delivered a cross to the near post where Joshua Zirkzee made a run.

Every Palace player was surprised by this move as they were keen on blocking the middle and far post areas.

Zirkzee gathered the ball but took a touch that made the angle to shoot too acute. However, the Dutchman made up for that by smashing a stunning curling strike past goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Mason Mount free-kick

Palace lost 2-1 to United, with Zirkzee’s goal coming before Mason Mount delivered the hammer blow.

Fernandes and Mount stood up to take the free-kick and the Portuguese tapped the ball to give Mount a better angle to fire and beat the wall and get the better of the goalkeeper.

The England international reacted quickly enough to drill a low shot that helped United register a rare victory at Selhurst Park.

Mount later revealed that he offered a couple of suggestions but Fernandes rebuffed those to create another magic moment of creativity and intelligence.

Goal number 100

It was a special day for Fernandes when Chelsea made a trip to Old Trafford as he made his 200th appearance in the Premier League.

He marked that evening with an inspiring 100th goal of his career for the Red Devils.

Fernandes poked in a poacher’s finish to open the scoring after Patrick Dorgu’s header across goal.

United ultimately won the game by 2-1 after a nervy second half with both teams playing with 10 men.

200th G/A, second fastest after Rooney

Fernandes pulled the strings against Spurs, and was unlucky to miss out on a goal in the first half.

With just 10 minutes remaining in the game, he fired home from a Diogo Dalot cross that put the game beyond doubt.

It was not an easy finish by any means, with the ball travelling and the defender right on top of Fernandes.

The attacking midfielder shinned it past the goalkeeper rather than using his feet as he had very little time to react.

This also marked his 200th goal contribution for the club, becoming the second-quickest player to do so after legendary Wayne Rooney.

He leapfrogged the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo (339 games), David Beckham (393), Ryan Giggs (424) and Paul Scholes (564).

Memorable 100th assist

With the game set at 1-1 against Crystal Palace, Fernandes once again rose to the occasion in the 65th minute.

The United captain drifted towards the right flank to collect a loose clearance before whipping in a sensational, inch-perfect cross for Benjamin Sesko, who powered his header home to seal the turnaround.

With this sublime assist, Fernandes became only the third player in Man United’s history to register more than 100 goals and 100 assists. The other two in this prestigious list are Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
