Official: Two big stars miss out as Roma confirm 25-man squad for Juventus
Roma have confirmed that they will be without Matias Soule and Mario Hermoso for Sunday’s Serie A crunch match against Juventus, but Paulo Dybala is with the squad and could feature against the Old Lady.
Roma and Juventus will go head-to-head in a game that has been described as a ‘play-off’ for a spot in Serie A’s Champions League positions.
Roma currently find themselves in fourth place in the Serie A table with 50 points after 26 matches, while Juventus sit four points shy of them in sixth place, having been overtaken by Como on Saturday night.
You can follow the action from all of Sunday’s Serie A matches on the Football Italia Liveblog.
Soule is still struggling with a pubalgia issue, which ruled him out of last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Cremonese and will also keep him sidelined for the Juventus test on Sunday. Hermoso is still nursing an impact injury to his foot, which has made him miss the last three league fixtures.
Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson are also ruled out, but Donyell Malen would have been expected to start at centre-forward regardless.
Dybala has also missed the last four Serie A matches with a knee injury, but has trained with his teammates in the days leading up to the Juventus match and has been included in Gasperini’s matchday squad. He remains unlikely to start, but could feature as a second-half substitute.
Stephan El Shaarawy has also returned to the squad after missing out on the last six league matches with an achilles issue.
Kick-off is due at 19.45 GMT.
