IRGC Prepares Sixth Wave of Missile and Drone Strikes on 27 U.S. Bases in Middle East

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced preparations for a sixth wave of missile and drone attacks targeting 27 American military bases across the Middle East. Iranian state-controlled media reported Sunday, March 1, that the operation is intended as retaliation for joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.

According to Fars News Agency, previous waves of attacks struck U.S. bases in Gulf countries, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. The agency claimed that the strikes resulted in successful impacts.

However, international media outlets citing regional security sources reported that most of the missiles were intercepted by host countries’ defense systems and U.S. air defenses deployed in the region. While some damage has been reported at certain facilities, large-scale casualties have not been confirmed.

Reports also indicate that in several cases civilian areas in Gulf states were affected, raising concerns about broader regional security risks. The situation remains tense as military alerts continue across multiple countries.

The sixth wave announcement comes amid heightened tensions following preemptive strikes by the United States and Israel, which Iranian media say resulted in the death of Ali Khamenei. The IRGC has stated that operations will continue until what it described as a “decisive defeat of the enemy.”

The escalating exchanges mark one of the most direct military confrontations between Iran and U.S.-aligned forces in decades, significantly raising the risk of a wider regional conflict involving multiple Gulf states.

Many Gulf countries host key U.S. military installations critical to regional security and energy routes. Sustained attacks on these facilities could disrupt global markets and deepen instability across the Middle East.
