13 Years After Cancellation, Beloved Sci-Fi Series Now Streaming for Free
Just two months ago, Paramount-owned Pluto TV added dedicated channel for science fiction smash hit The X Files, thrilling science fiction fans everywhere. Now, the streaming platform is adding another hit show that was canceled 13 years ago.
'Fringe' Coming to Pluto TV
Beloved science fiction series Fringe, which was initially canceled in 2013 after five seasons, is coming to Pluto TV's science fiction channel. All five seasons of the show featuring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and John Noble, will be available for streaming on March 1.
The series was co-created by J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who all went on to work on the Star Trek reboot. While the series was slow to gain traction initially, it built a cult following and received critical success.
Season 1 of the series received an 85 % from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, before a drop off to 82% in Season 2. Seasons 3 and 4 received perfect marks from critics with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes while the fifth and final season earned an 88%.
What is the Sci-Fi Series 'Fringe' All About?
The series, which was initially released on Sept. 9, 2008, follows special agent Olivia Dunham of the Federal Bureau of Investigation after she's assigned to the bureau's Fringe Division.
There, she investigates unusual crimes and occurrences alongside once-institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop, his son, Peter, and FBI Junior Agent Astrid Farnsworth. As the team investigates cases of science gone awry, they discover connections to their own past and to a parallel universe. As the team solves cases in these interconnected worlds, new discoveries and complications continue to arise.

Pluto TV is a free streaming service that offers its content with ads, just like a traditional cable plan.
