Carrick: Our fans are incredible
Manchester United take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon with the hope of securing a win and climbing in to third.
Following our 1-0 win away at Goodison Park, Michael Carrick reflected in an interview with MUTV on the scrappy game that saw us leave with three points.
To create and have consistency of results, there’s going to be times in the season when you play really well and you’ve got to capitalise on that, and then times when maybe it doesn’t come as easy. Some of the times when you win when it doesn’t come as easy is a little bit more satisfying. It feels like you’ve really got to earn it and dig deep, and the boys had to do that. Credit to Everton, I thought they played really well and made it difficult for us. I’m never had an easy game playing away at Everton. The boys did what they had to do and to find a way.
Carrick is pleased to be playing in front of the home crowd this weekend and recognises what a big impact the relationship between the players and fans is having on our performances.
[Let’s] keep that momentum, keep that atmosphere. I have to say the away fans again the other night were incredible, but to be back home and feel that love and support and energy [will be great]. Hopefully, everyone comes feeling good and makes a lot of noise. We have that connection because it’s been great to see over recent weeks. We’ve got to keep building on that and keep pushing. We’ve got big games coming up, this is as important as ever, so everyone’s got to be ready for it.
