SATURDAY’S TEAM SHEETS

This weekend, our three men’s sides are in action, with fairly seismic games in store for both our 1sts and 3rds.

In National 2 West, the battle for 2nd spot and a promotion play-off place is seriously on the line as our 1s travel to the East Midlands to face 3rd placed Hinckley. The game is massive for both teams, with a win for us really opening the 15 point gap further and pouring cold water on their revival, despite their game in hand. Defeat, however, would heap the pressure back on our shoulders.

The 3rd XV have a huge game of their own, as they travel to bottom placed Newcastle 2s. Victory on the road would help two-fold as it would realistically kill off any hope the hosts have of surviving this season, whilst giving our lads a massive shot in the arm, as we could sit outside of the relegation places come close of play on Saturday.

Holding the fort at home, the 2nds host Stratford, who find themselves in 11th position in Regional 2 Midlands West. The visitors really need a victory as they are running out of games to get themselves out of relegation trouble, whilst our lads will be looking to bounce back after our first defeat in five, last time out at Stow.
