A night of velvet songs
An evening of vocal lyricism fast approaches in the capital as internationally acclaimed Cypriot performer and songwriter Vakia Stavrou returns for one final evening at Ktirio 53. Right before the singer continues her journey abroad for her upcoming concerts across Europe, Asia and Latin America, she gears up for a Night(s) in Velvet, as her performance is titled.
On March 6, Stavrou will present beautiful, velvety songs along with her own compositions, taking the audience on a journey through the most hidden paths of the soul.
“As a true citizen of the world,” say organisers, “described as ‘a great voice without borders’ by Germany’s Die Welt, Stavrou masterfully and uniquely blends countries, colours and emotions, moving with remarkable ease from Latin America to Central Europe and the Mediterranean.”
She is the creator and performer of the Portuguese song Sozinha, now considered a classic favourite on international radio playlists (Radio France and ERT). And she will not be taking the stage solo. Accompanying her on the evening will be Angelos Cheipeloglou and his classical guitar.
