Not consulted on Mizo marriage & property bill: MHIP
MHIP, the Mizo Women's Association, has rejected the Mizo Marriage and Inheritance of Property (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and called for its withdrawal and a full review. The decision follows CM Lalduhoma’s statement that a Mizo girl who marries a non-Mizo would lose her status, a provision tied to the amended Section 2 and now contested.
