Cinderella: The Pantomime sees Premiere Group return to Cyprus stage

Cinderella’s charming tale is coming to life in a large-scale theatrical performance by the Premiere Group. Polemidia Municipal Theatre is getting ready to present a show for old and young on March 7 and 8, bringing Cinderella: The Pantomime to the stage. And, it is in English!

With a much-anticipated return, Premiere Group celebrates not only a beloved fairy tale, but also the joy of reconnecting audiences with live, community performance. Presented in classic English pantomime style, Cinderella will be full of colour, comedy, music and audience participation, including a live band. Designed as a true family-friendly experience, the show promises plenty of laughs for both children and adults, and all the magic audiences expect from a traditional pantomime.

The production brings together a 22-strong cast and creative team, made up of volunteers of nine different nationalities, ranging in age from 10 to 70. Speaking about the production, the show’s director Sharon Chorbadjian said the comeback carries special meaning for the team.

“Cinderella is such a special show for us. It represents magic, hope and community and bringing this production to the stage as part of our return to large-scale theatre makes it even more meaningful. The dedication and heart from our cast and volunteers has been incredible, and we cannot wait to share that with audiences.”

Founders of Premiere Group Daniel Chorbadjian and Hovig Nassanian added that seeing the community come together again reflects what the organisation has always prided itself on: “Premiere Group has always been about bringing people together through theatre. Seeing performers of so many nationalities and ages sharing the stage again is incredibly special for us. This production feels like a celebration not just of theatre, but of community and creativity in Cyprus.”

Founded in 1996, Premiere Group has spent nearly three decades producing theatre including popular musicals and family shows in Cyprus. Its return with Cinderella reflects the group’s continued commitment to cultural life on the island and to creating opportunities for performers of all backgrounds to take part in high-quality theatrical productions.
