Man United and Liverpool join Tottenham in race for £52m Bundesliga-winning centre-back
Just days after it emerged that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer move for a Bundesliga star, two of the club’s Premier League rivals have also expressed their interest in the player.
It remains to be seen if Spurs will prioritise shoring up their defence in the summer, with the Lilywhites also needing significant additions in midfield and defence.
However, there is reportedly panic at Tottenham over the prospect of losing one or both of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the summer.
That may force the club to look for an experienced and proven top-class centre-back, and they have allegedly turned to a Bayer Leverkusen man.
Liverpool and Manchester United join Tottenham in race for Edmond Tapsoba
It was revealed a couple of days ago that Spurs are plotting a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba.
A new report in CaughtOffside has backed up Tottenham’s interest in the 27-year-old, but reveals that they now have company.
Manchester United and Liverpool have also set their sights on the Burkina Faso international, who has been an extremely consistent performer for Leverkusen for a number of years.
The outlet claims that the Bundesliga club would be willing to cash in on their star defender for a fee of €60m (£52.2m).
Spurs also have competition from Europe for Tapsoba
The Merseyside giants and the Red Devils are not the only sides that can thwart Tottenham’s pursuit of the Leverkusen man.
It has been claimed by Africa Football that Napoli and Newcastle have also expressed an interest in the Spurs defensive target.
Additionally, the outlet claimed that Real Madrid see Tapsoba as a ‘complete and decisive defender’ and are keeping an eye on his situation.
