WBSC extends partnership with Trackman through 2032
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced a six-year extension of its Official Partnership with Trackman, securing the company’s role as the WBSC’s Official Ball Tracking Technology Partner from 2027 through 2032.
Under the renewed agreement, Trackman will continue to provide its industry-leading ball tracking and performance data technology across all WBSC baseball and softball events. This includes the WBSC Premier12, Baseball World Cups, Softball World Cups and qualification tournaments for the LA28 Olympic Games.
The extension ensures that advanced analytics and real-time data integration will remain a core component of WBSC competitions, enhancing the presentation, transparency and technical depth of the sport at the international level.
Trackman’s radar-based technology captures detailed ball flight metrics, spin rate, pitch movement and player tracking data. These insights are visualised and distributed through broadcast coverage, streaming platforms and WBSC digital channels, delivering a richer and more engaging viewing experience for global audiences.
As part of the extended partnership, the WBSC and Trackman will also explore the potential future implementation of an Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) system in WBSC competitions, leveraging Trackman’s proven technological infrastructure and expertise to further support accuracy and consistency in officiating.
WBSC Executive Director Michael Schmidt said: “Extending our partnership with Trackman reinforces the WBSC’s commitment to innovation and excellence. Their world-class technology enhances the integrity of competition, provides valuable performance insights to teams and athletes, and elevates the experience for fans watching around the world. As we look ahead to LA28 and beyond, integrating advanced analytics into our events remains a strategic priority.”
Morty Bouchard Senior Manager Trackman Baseball added: “Trackman is extremely proud and honoured to extend our partnership with the WBSC for the next six years beginning in 2027. Nothing is more exciting than being part of the LA28 qualifying events. Together with the WBSC, we will continue delivering best-in-class tracking technology globally for baseball and softball, while also working toward the implementation of Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) technology across elite WBSC competitions. We thank the WBSC and President Fraccari for their continued trust in Trackman as we extend our partnership for another six years.”
The partnership extension reflects the WBSC’s long-term strategy (Event Excellence) to elevate the global profile of baseball and softball through the integration of world-class technology. By combining elite competition with advanced performance analytics, the WBSC continues to strengthen the competitive environment while enhancing engagement with a growing international fan base.
