Grey’s Anatomy returned from a month-long hiatus on Thursday (February 26), and included a tribute to the late Eric Dane.
The late actor, who passed away last week after a battle with ALS, played Dr Mark Sloan, aka McSteamy, across seven seasons of the hit medical show.
He first appeared in season two in a recurring role before becoming a series regular in season three, and left the series at the beginning of season nine when his character was killed off. He then returned as a special guest star in season 17, for a total of 139 episodes.
At the end of this week’s episode, “(If You Want It) Do It Yourself,” the show shared a 60-second montage of some of his best moments on the show.
