Mujahid Says Large-Scale Operation Launched Against Pakistani Military Along Durand Line
Mujahid says group launched large-scale offensive against Pakistani military posts along Durand Line following recent airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan provinces.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced that the group has begun a large-scale offensive targeting Pakistani military centers and installations along the Durand Line.
In a statement released Thursday evening, Mujahid said the operation was launched in response to Pakistani airstrikes inside Afghanistan, describing it as retaliatory military action.
He claimed Taliban forces had seized seven Pakistani military posts across three locations, including areas in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces bordering Pakistan.
According to the statement, Taliban units are conducting coordinated nighttime operations and targeting Pakistani forces along the frontier using advanced equipment.
The escalation follows recent Pakistani airstrikes in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, where local sources reported civilian casualties and destruction of residential homes.
Cross-border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have intensified in recent months, with both sides accusing each other of security violations and militant activity.
The latest clashes risk further destabilizing the volatile border region, raising concerns about broader military escalation between the neighboring countries.
