Mujahid Says Pakistan Bombed Kabul, Kandahar; No Casualties Reported
Zabihullah Mujahid said Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes targeting areas in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, and Nangarhar, as well as several other locations across Afghanistan.
Mujahid claimed that despite the bombardment, no casualties were reported. He described the strikes as an act of aggression by what he called “cowardly Pakistani forces.”
He had previously warned that if Pakistan launched attacks on Kabul, Taliban forces would respond by targeting Islamabad, signaling the risk of further escalation between the two sides.
Pakistani officials have said recent military operations were conducted in response to what they described as unprovoked actions by Afghan forces along the border. Islamabad maintains that its air and ground operations are aimed at protecting national security.
According to Pakistani sources cited by Geo News, dozens of Taliban fighters were killed in ongoing operations, and several positions were targeted in multiple provinces.
Earlier, Mujahid had claimed that Taliban forces killed 40 Pakistani soldiers and seized a number of military posts along the frontier, assertions that have not been independently verified.
The exchange of accusations and military claims has significantly heightened tensions between the two neighboring countries, raising concerns of a broader confrontation if diplomatic efforts fail to ease the crisis.
