CBS News correspondent Weijia Jiang, president of the association, said in a statement, “As the world’s most celebrated mentalist, Oz Pearlman will offer a fascinating glimpse into what’s truly on the minds of Washington’s newsmakers. We look forward to an exciting, fresh, and interactive evening as we celebrate the First Amendment and Washington news coverage together.”
Donald Trump has repeatedly opted not to attend the WHCD during his years as President. In 2017, he publicly slammed it. It’s unclear if he will attend the 2026 function.
