Maseko Ngoni Heritage commends President Mutharika for allowing fresh plane crash inquiry

Lilongwe,25 Feb, Mana:The Maseko Ngoni Heritage has commended President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for directing a fresh Commission of Inquiry into the plane crash that claimed the lives of Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima and eight others.
Through a statement released on Wednesday and signed by the secretary of the Maseko Ngoni Heritage Kandi Padambo, the Ngonis said the fresh inquiry is timely.
“His Majesty Inkosi YamaKhosi Gomani V conveys his sincerest gratitude to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for initiating this inquiry.
“This reflects a commitment to uncovering the truth and providing justice for the families affected,” the statement said.
In a telephone interview, Padambo added that, previous inquiries and reports failed to provide credible answers, leaving the Maseko Ngoni paramount chief Maseko and the entire community in prolonged grief.
” We have no reason to doubt that this fresh inquiry will leave no stone unturned.” added Padambo.
The plane crash also claimed the lives of the former First Lady Shanil Dzimbiri, Guard Commander Lukas Kapheni, Chisomo Chimaneni, Gloria Mtukule, Medical Officer Dan Kanyemba, Protocol Officer Abdul Kingstone Lapukeni, Pilot-in-command Colonel Owen Sambalopa, Second Pilot Major Flora Selemani Ngwirinji, and Aircraft Engineer Major Wales Aidin, all of whom tragically lost their lives in the accident.
