Livermore man charged with misdemeanor for allegedly taking picture up 11-year-old’s dress
LIVERMORE — A man has been arrested and charged with taking a picture up an 11-year-old girl’s dress earlier this year as she walked around a local grocery store with her mother, court records show.
What’s more, police say that 46-year-old Jose Sanchez took the picture just two weeks after he was caught red-handed at his job, taking a picture up a woman’s skirt. Now, Sanchez faces two misdemeanor invasion-of-privacy charges in connection with both incidents, which occurred in different stores in Livermore, court records show.
It is evident from court filings that police are investigating Sanchez for similar alleged crimes. In one of the incidents, the alleged victim’s fiancé found “potential other victims of similar acts” on Sanchez’s phone, and in the other, police identified Sanchez by comparing him to surveillance footage from Pleasanton “where he was caught doing similar type behaviors,” police said in court records.
One of the charges stems from an incident at a Walgreens in Livermore, where Sanchez worked. On Jan. 24, a woman and her fiance allegedly caught him taking a picture up her skirt. The man confronted Sanchez, who said he was “going through a hard time” but fled the store when the man called police, authorities said. The Walgreens manager helped police identify Sanchez as a suspect.
Then, on Feb. 7, Sanchez allegedly took a picture up the 11-year-old girl’s skirt as she walked around a Safeway in Livermore with her mother. The girl noticed what was going on, and she and her mother called police, according to court records.
Sanchez is out of jail after posting $5,000 bail. He pleaded not guilty and is next due in court in March, records show.
