Juventus make Tottenham star a top summer target but he will cost up to £26m
Juventus have made a final decision regarding their summer plans as they eye a move for a senior Tottenham star.
Guglielmo Vicario continues to be heavily linked with a summer switch to Inter Milan, but they are not the only Serie A club after the goalkeeper.
According to some sources, Juventus have joined Inter in the race for the Spurs number one, who looks increasingly likely to return to his home country at the end of this term.
There has now been a new update on the Bianconeri’s transfer plans, and the race for the Spurs goalkeeper takes shape.
Juventus prioritise Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario move after transfer decision
Gazzetta dello Sport are now reporting that the decision makers at Juve no longer believe that Michele Di Gregorio is good enough to be their long-term number one.
The 28-year-old has failed to convince since arriving from Monza, and the Turin giants have now decided to shop for a new shot-stopper in the summer.
Juve want to sign an Italian player due to their squad restrictions and ‘the main route leads towards London’, with Vicario in their sights.
It is revealed that the former Empoli man is keen to return to Italy after three years in North London.
How much are Spurs expected to demand for Vicario?
Gazzetta point out that the Tottenham star’s current deal will have just two years left to run at the end of this campaign.
As a result, they suggest that Spurs ‘cannot expect too much’ and that the North Londoners would be happy to sell the 29-year-old for €25m-€30m (£21.8m -£26.2m).
It is asserted that the kind of transfer fee and Vicario’s €4.5m (£3.9m) per year salary would be well within Juve’s means.
