Jaguars, Commanders host teams for London games
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be designated as the home team for two games in London this year, the NFL announced on Wednesday.
The games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium will be played in consecutive weeks in October. A second game overseas was added to the Jaguars' schedule due to the ongoing renovations at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.
The league also announced that the Washington Commanders will serve as the host team for a game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Commanders previously played overseas on two occasions. They visited London in 2016 for a tie against the Cincinnati Bengals and lost to the Miami Dolphins in Madrid in 2025.
The opponents and specific dates for the games have yet to be announced.
Commanders managing partner Josh Harris said he was looking forward to returning to Europe.
"Last season's trip to Madrid was personally unforgettable, and a tremendous milestone for our organization," Harris said in a statement. "Playing in the NFL's first regular season game in Spain and experiencing the passion of fans was truly special and reaffirmed the power of and excitement for the Commanders and NFL globally. London is home to some of the most passionate sports fans in the world. We're grateful for the opportunity to bring the Commanders and NFL football to this unique city."
Jaguars head coach Liam Coen also said he is on board as the franchise continues to establish a footprint across the Atlantic Ocean.
"Last season was my first experience in London as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars and my immediate takeaway was London is undoubtedly our home away from home," Coen said. "We have a passionate and knowledgeable fan base in London, built over time and still growing, and we're making a positive impact with fans throughout the United Kingdom as well. That's something our organization, starting with our ownership, has worked very hard to achieve and takes great pride in further developing each season.
"With two games in London in 2026 it's going to be great fun for our fans in London as well as for everyone in Jacksonville who will be making the trip. I'm definitely looking forward to it and I know our players are happy to return as well."
The Jaguars are 7-7 all-time in London.
