Award-Winning HBO Show Renewed For One Final Season
HBO's award-winning drama Industry has been renewed for a fifth and final season ahead of the upcoming season 4 finale.
The show's ratings have been exceptionally strong this year, averaging 1.7 million viewers per episode—roughly 30% higher than the previous season (via THR). The current season will end on March 1, with the finale airing an hour earlier than usual at 8 p.m. ET.
'Industry' Season 5 Will Be The Show's Last
Industry's creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay released a statement following the show's renewal announcement, thanking the audience for sticking with the show over the past six years and confirming that its fifth season will be the last.
"For some time now, we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high," they wrote. "Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party. We'd like to thank our evangelical fan base, especially those who have watched from day one. Finally: we owe everything to our crew and the best cast on TV for making our writing live. The characters will live on because of their world class performances."
HBO has not yet confirmed which members of the cast will be returning for season five, nor has the platform given an official release date for the final episodes. Season 4 stars Myha'la and Marisa Abela will be expected to return, alongside newcomers Kit Harrington and Max Minghella, whose characters have played central roles in recent episodes.
HBO's Executive Vice President, Francesca Orsi, confirmed that Down and Kay are ending the show on their own terms. "It is gratifying that viewers and critics have recognized season four as bigger and more thrilling than ever, buoyed by career defining performances from our magnificent cast. Alongside the amazing team under executive producer Jane Tranter at Bad Wolf and executive producer Kathleen McCaffrey at Little Gems, we are so proud we can announce the fifth season of this terrific show, which Mickey and Konrad have decided will take us to the end of Industry’s story."
Judging by the show's regular release schedule—which was briefly disrupted by the pandemic in 2020—audiences should expect Industry's final season at some point next year.
