Woke Leftist “Scholar” That Fled USA For Canada Now Complaining About Canada | Drew Hernandez

A so-called U.S. academic and TikTok commentator who posts as “Nope Brigade” went viral after announcing she had fled Los Angeles for Vancouver, Canada, because she feared a second Trump administration and what she described in earlier videos as the “building blocks to genocide” in the United States.

In those prior clips, the cringe sociology PhD candidate, who “researches” the far right and Christian nationalism, compared Trump’s immigration rhetoric to historical genocides and said she felt compelled to leave when he returned to office.

Once in British Columbia on a visitor visa, she told followers she was “a scholar of the far right who has fled the United States to Canada” and was now surviving on limited savings because she and her partner are legally barred from working.

In the widely shared TikTok, she explained that they had brought their pets and chosen the Vancouver area to be closer to family on the West Coast, but were quickly overwhelmed by how high local living costs are.

“For those who don’t know, the housing crisis here is worse than in the United States,” she said, adding that after six years in Los Angeles she had “not faced rent as bad as it is here.”

She also lamented that as a U.S. visitor shut out of Canada’s public system she could not access healthcare or other social supports, calling the situation “dire” and appealing for financial help with rent.

The TikTok asked Canadians in the Vancouver or Vancouver Island area to offer a one‑ or two‑bedroom place “for free or below market rates” for her, her partner, a cat, and a dog, a plea that was quickly amplified by political commentators.

Under reposts of the video, commenters mocked her request, with one American user writing, “Ma’am, no matter what happens please stay there. Signed, the United States of America,” and a Canadian replying, “You kidding? We don’t want her either!”

On forums and comment threads, critics derided her as “Dope Brigade” and a “migratory parasite,” accusing her of entitlement and poor planning for asking strangers in one of the world’s most expensive housing markets to subsidize her self‑declared exile from Trump’s America.
