Attorney amazed at speed which rape case reached High Court
Senior Counsel Andrew Pilgrim has expressed amazement at the speed with which the rape matter against Cultural Ambassador The Most Honourable Anthony Nicholas “Gabby” Carter has reached the High Court.
Carter was before the No. 3A Supreme Court yesterday where he was arraigned with having sexual intercourse with a female, between July 17 and September 8, 2023, without her consent, knowing that she did not consent or was reckless as to whether she consented.
State Counsel Treann Knight and Principal State Counsel Joyann Catwell appeared for the prosecution.
Pilgrim, who represented the cultural ambassador in association with attorney Lesley Cargill-Straker, said the last matter to move through the legal system that quickly was the case involving the killers of the grandmother of former Prime Minister Tom Adams.
