Insomniac Games Drops Release Date for 'Marvel's Wolverine'
After failing to make an appearance at Sony's recent State of Play, Marvel's Wolverine got a surprising piece of news on Tuesday as developer Insomniac Games announced on Bluesky that the game would be releasing on Sept. 15. It’s been a long road for Wolverine, first revealed in 2021 before disappearing for an extended period and reemerging at a State of Play last September.
Insomniac Games has enjoyed tremendous success with its trilogy of Spider-Man games, Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel's Spider-Man2, the most recent of which released in 2023. Wolverine is comfortably one of the most anticipated releases for 2026, and it looks to carve out space ahead of the announced November launch of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI.
About the game: As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes–unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage and relentless determination–to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.
