Epstein Files Name Presidents And Billionaires, But Athletes? Almost None.
The latest release of DOJ documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein confirms just how wide his network stretched across American power. But one category stands out for how little it appears in the files: professional athletes.
The only professional athlete connected to Jeffrey Epstein in the newly released DOJ documents is Brian Vickers, a former NASCAR driver who won the Busch Series championship in 2003.
Vickers was married for more than a decade to Sarah Kellen, one of Epstein’s closest aides and an accused co-conspirator in his sex trafficking ring. The documents show Vickers was in direct email contact with Epstein dating back to at least 2012, and that
Epstein personally intervened behind the scenes to protect Vickers’ NASCAR sponsorship deal with Aaron’s after Kellen’s connection to Epstein became public.
That is the one athlete, out of more than three million pages of documents.
Here is what else the newly released DOJ documents show. Jeffrey Epstein had in his network. He had controlling hundreds of billions of dollars. He had on his payroll, at his dinners, and on his flight logs.
Business and finance made up the largest share of his circle. Government and political figures were next. Then sports owners and executives. Then entertainment. Then academia.
And then, at the very bottom, professional athletes. Essentially zero. No players. No Olympians.
A note on this chart. It is based on a sample of 68 confirmed names from the documents. More names are being confirmed every week, and some categories will likely grow. Researchers who have reviewed the files say the Hollywood connections in particular appear far more extensive than what has been publicly confirmed so far.
But the athlete number? That one is probably not changing.
