Colorado Fund Paid to Kill 4,000 Babies in Abortions
A Colorado-based abortion fund spent more than $2.4 million in 2025 to facilitate killing nearly 4,000 babies in abortions.
With spending on abortions rising 84% from the previous year amid the state’s radical abortions up to birth laws, Colorado has become a destination for out-of-state women seeking to kill their babies in late-term abortions.
The Cobalt Abortion Fund, the largest independent abortion fund in Colorado, reported paying for 3,988 clients with financial assistance for abortions, totaling more than $1.7 million — an 84% increase from 2024 — according to data released by the organization.

Overall spending reached $2.4 million, including $665,000 for logistical support for 1,106 abortion customers. The fund provides no help for women who want to give birth or place their babies for adoptions.
Nearly 48% of those receiving direct funding for abortions were Colorado residents, while 40% came from Texas, where pro-life laws protect babies from abortions. The fund’s activities highlight Colorado’s role as an abortion destination following the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and the state’s 2024 passage of Amendment 79, which enshrined abortion as a constitutional right.
Abortions in Colorado had already increased 89% from 2020 to the first half of 2023 because of the abortion pill and unlimited abortions up to birth.
Pro-life advocates view the surge as a tragic outcome of Colorado’s unrestricted abortion policies, which offer no legal protections for preborn children at any stage of development and draw women to end the lives of their unborn babies instead of providing alternatives. The funding enables thousands of abortions annually, with critics arguing it normalizes and subsidizes the destruction of innocent human life under the guise of “health care.”
