IHRA Participant Accident Coverage: What Every Racer Should Know
As an International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) member, you’re covered by participant accident insurance whenever you compete at IHRA-sanctioned events and IHRA member tracks. This coverage applies across all divisions, classes, and racing categories, including both land- and water-based motorsports.
What the coverage includes
- $1,000,000 Excess Medical Benefit for covered injuries
- $500,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
- $200 weekly disability benefit, payable for up to 52 weeks, subject to policy terms and conditions
Covered Activities:
IHRA participant accident coverage applies during sanctioned motorsports activities, including:
- Official races
- Practice sessions
- Qualifying rounds
- Testing and tuning
These activities must be organized or sponsored by IHRA and conducted at approved facilities and locations designated for those purposes.
