It’s no secret that Princess Kate and Meghan Markle aren’t the best of friends, but this new book claims Kate may have already written Meghan off in their first encounter.
In details obtained by William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s New Era: The Inside Story by Russell Myers, he claimed that Kate had a three-word assessment of the former actress, saying she’s a “touch of California,” probably noting her friendly nature and first friendly interaction.
Meghan previously revealed: “I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits,” noting how hugging them first thing was shocking to the royal couple.
Many experts and insiders have come forward about their first meeting over the years. Royal author Ingrid Seward previously told Fox News Digital that “there [wasn’t] that warm feeling” between Kate and Meghan, and then their friendship “started on the wrong foot. Kate wanted to like Meghan, but it didn’t work out that way.”

There are also allegations that Queen Camilla started the feud.
“Camilla is always looking out for herself first,” an insider said to InTouch Weekly. “Kate and Meghan made good targets. Quite simply, if the princesses were constantly at war, then anything negative out there about her and Charles would be of limited interest. Kate and Meghan never had a chance.”
However, it just seems like Kate and Meghan just didn’t get along from the start.
