Eric Dane’s Girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff Breaks Silence on His Death With a Heartbreaking Post
Eric Dane, beloved TV star, passed away at the age of 53 from his battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on Feb 19. Many have paid tribute or offered their condolences to the recently deceased, and the latest is Dane’s girlfriend, Janell Shirtcliff.
They say one picture is worth a thousand words, and with her carousel of photos obtained by Page Six, she told the story of their beautiful romance together.
She posted an array of photos from their romance, starting with pics of them looking stylish in the countryside, along with some PDA moments of Dane kissing Shirtcliff’s shoulder, him smiling at her, and him kissing her head while in matching Gucci loafers. There’s also a video where we can hear Dane saying “Are you taking videos?” to which Shirtcliff respons “It’s cute!” And they laughed so sweetly.
Truly, they seemed so happy.

For those who don’t know, Dane and Shirtcliff made their red carpet debut in 2025 while attending the premiere of Dane’s new show Countdown, side by side. And it was revealed that the two, per Entertainment Tonight, have been on and off for the past three years.
“The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other,” the source said. “Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.”
