Milestones: Good news about Marin people
Dean’s list: Lyla Macrae, of Mill Valley, was named to the dean’s list at the University of Rhode Island for the fall 2025 semester.
Dean’s list honors: Julian Shayeb, of Greenbrae, was named to the dean’s list honors at the University of Tampa for the fall 2025 semester.
Trustees’ list: Bridey Stieglitz, of Novato, was named to the trustees’ list at Champlain College for the fall 2025 semester.
Recognition: Marin historian Marcie Miller received the Historic Preservation Recognition Award from the El Marinero chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Miller has volunteered at the Marin History Museum for 18 years.
Recognition: Patty Hoyt, of Novato, will receive the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin’s Side with Love award at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. March 1 at the church in San Rafael.
“Patty is a community defender who spearheads many of the democracy preservation events in Marin County,” said a press release. “Recently, in the blink of an eye, Patty organized the funeral rally and march for Renée Good at the Marin Civic Center that drew over 1,200 people. We will celebrate Patty and her indefatigable work.”
