Conan O'Brien Breaks Silence on Rob Reiner Being Found Dead Just Hours After Attending His Holiday Party
Conan O’Brien is speaking out to share the “shock” he experienced when he learned that his friends Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were murdered, just hours after they attended his holiday party.
The Reiners were found dead at their home on December 14 and their son Nick has been charged with their murder. All three of them were at Conan‘s house on the night of December 13.
THR has reported that the Reiners asked to bring Nick to the party and at the event, Nick got into a verbal altercation with Bill Hader. The family left the party soon after and the Reiners were found dead the next day.
In a new interview, Conan talked about that night.

“I knew Rob and Michele, and then increasingly got closer and closer to them, and I was seeing them a lot,” Conan told The New Yorker. “My wife and I were seeing them a lot, and they were so — they were just such lovely people. And to have that experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone. … I think I was in shock for quite a while afterward. I mean, there’s no other word for it. It’s just very — it’s so awful. It’s just so awful.”
“And I think about how Rob felt about things that are happening in the country, how involved he was, how much he put himself out there—and to have that voice go quiet in an instant is still hard for me to comprehend,” he added.
Nick Reiner‘s former lawyer recently responded to a rumor about why he quit the case.
