Epstein Convinced Himself He Wasn’t Doing Anything Wrong With This Sick Logic
Jeffrey Epstein was a predator and mastermind manipulator, and in his narcissistic and evil worldview justified abusing children and even explained it to his victims.
In her memoir Nobody’s Girl, Virginia Giuffre reveals that Epstein did not see himself as someone breaking the law or crossing a moral line. He had reasoned his way around it.
Giuffre describes how Epstein would explain his so-called “scientific” justification for targeting young girls, arguing that biological maturity made his victims fair game regardless of their age, innocence, or experience.
Epstein liked to share with me what he insisted were ‘scientific justifications for his yearnings for young girls. For example, he would only have sex with girls who had started menstruating. Why? So he could assert that — since they were biologically able to bear children — they were “of age.” | was flabbergasted when he said this stuff, but I held my tongue. No matter how young a girl looked, or how sexually inexperienced she was, if she had her period, he felt he could defend his abuse of her as part of the natural order of things.
Predators rarely see themselves as predators. They construct frameworks. They use language. They find ways to make the inexcusable feel defensible, at least to themselves. Epstein’s “scientific” framing is a documented example of exactly how that works.
